E4D SAME DAY CROWNS

In order to advance the office further into the 21st century and to learn where the future of dentistry was headed, Dr. Yung traveled to the E4D company in Texas. As a result of that visit, Michael S. Yung DDS is now the proud owner of the E4D crown milling machine! All team members received training from the E4D company.

What is the E4D machine and how does it change your dental experience?

The E4D machine enables us to eliminate impressions, so no need for uncomfortable impression materials in your mouth. An even larger advantage is the elimination of the temporary crown AND the return visit for the permanent crown. We value your comfort, time and convenience. Temporary crowns can break or come loose while you wait weeks for your permanent crown. You will now be able to get your crown on the same day in one single visit! Rather than relying on a lab to make your crown to your specifications, your crown now involves only two people: your dentist and you.

How does this work?

With the E4D System, we can obtain clean, fast digital impressions of your tooth in a few minutes using a laser scanner. This laser scanning technology is not only precise when capturing all the details of your tooth, but it is also as safe as the check-out scanner at the grocery store. Your impression is saved and used to design your new tooth with the special software.

Step 1: Dr. Yung has just used the laser scanner wand to take a “digital” impression of a tooth

Step 2: Dr. Yung will now use the software to “create” your new crown

Step 3: The E4D milling machine is where your crown is custom-made

If you are a candidate, we will “create” your custom crown in-house, so that it is a personalized fit using the computer-based design center. From there, the information is transferred to the in-office milling unit, where your crown is made by our trained team!

Will my insurance cover this?

This is the same crown you would get if you waited the traditional 2-4 weeks. Now, you can get it made directly in our office.
